| Background:
Luca was born into a poor and penniless aristocratic family on
Imperial Center. His father was incarcerated, and he and his mother lived
off the generosity of relatives. Luca did in general, poorly at school,
however was an excellent orator, and perhaps lagged behind the other
students due to misbehavior and laziness, as opposed to lack of ability. During his early teens, he became fascinated with politics, and formed a student secret society, which goals seemed unclear and vague most of the time and accomplished little but satisfy the boys who belonged to it. He became fanatically loyal to the New Order, as many of his generation were. He soon rose in the ranks of his local SAGroup chapter. At age eighteen, it was always assumed he would join the Armed Forces. Although he was generally uninterested and he did not have the discipline he obliged. A great uncle, who was a Line Captain, secured him a position at Corulag Star Academy. He was expelled after only a single year of study. Besides not taking his studies seriously, he also bullied cadets, attempted to bully instructors, and generally behaved in an unbecoming manner. However, COMP-force openly accepted him, and he was promptly given the rank of Lieutenant within the branch. During a raid he led on a cell of rebels (mostly young men who posed no threat, but were acting as seditious as their means allowed) he became embroiled in a vibrosword clash with one of them. A superficial slash to the face was the cause of the scar he bares. Each time he sees his own image, he views the scar and his hatred for the rebels manifests itself. Shortly afterwards, the Empire was given a crushing blow, or as Luca obstinately referred to it a ‘minor setback’. However, this minor setback soon caused the entire Core region to fall under the control of the New Republic. Luca survived the fighting and joined one of the many pro-Imperial terrorist groups on the planet. Luca was not involved directly in any terrorist attacks, however began illegally broadcasting stirring speeches to try and encourage more subversion. As NR forces began to crack down on such groups, Luca had many narrow escapes. After four years of evading the law and continuing with his noble cause, Luca realized it was no longer safe on Imperial Center, the NR security forces were becoming too skilled. With a final broadcast which ended in a defiant ‘Long live the Empire!’ Luca slipped out of Imperial Center and headed for the Outer Rim. After meeting with other Imperial sympathizers, bribing with what little money he had and making some devious promises, he was smuggled past the frontier into Imperial held territory. It was around this time Thrawn launched his massive campaign. Luca did not reclaim his position as a COMP-force officer, but still helped with the war effort. He easily secured a position in COMPNOR Propaganda Division. Even after the defeat of Thrawn, Luca never lost hope and recently with Mallagant’s push towards the core, Luca has be given a position with Imperial HoloVison, which Mallagant’s second, Admiral Drake, and an aspiring young officer, Captain Quinn, are pushing to use as a major propaganda tool for Mallagant’s war effort. He has just been informed his broadcast radius will be increased dramatically, to most systems along the Outer-Rim/Inner-Rim section of the Rimma Run. |
